Run a dev server on any port (bind it to 0.0.0.0, e.g. npm run dev -- --host 0.0.0.0 --port 3000), then open the Ports panel in VS Code and click the globe — it opens at <code-server-host>/absproxy/<port>/ over HTTPS (no extra DNS needed).
Single-page apps that load assets from / should set their base path to /absproxy/<port>/ (e.g. Vite --base); otherwise use /proxy/<port>/ which serves at the root. This is shared by everyone on the box — Codespaces give each user a private forwarder.
